About Me

I am a final year Ph.D. student enrolled under a collaborative degree between IIIT-Delhi IIIT-Delhi and QUT-Australia. I am advised by Dr. Pavesh Biyani from IIIT-Delhi and Dr. James M Hogan from QUT-Australia. My Ph.D. is supported by Visvesvarya Ph.D. Fellowship and QUTPRA-Australia. I have spent most of the time in PhD at IIIT Delhi however QUT, Brisbane is my current work location.

Research Interest

My primary interest lies in developing faster and efficient Representation learning based computational tools that are capable of finding solutions to the core problems in bioinformatics domain. In my PhD research I have focused on developing the Representation Learning based solution for Homologous Sequence retrieval problem that is faster than the established alignment based approaches. My recent research interests include:

  • Language Modelling for biological sequences
  • Learning label (sequence annotations) representations
  • Paired input prediction problems, e.g, protein-protein interaction
